Mining for emotion

Christopher Ibbit

For anyone seeking to apply a context, rationality or justification to many otherwise arbitrary and often monotonous day-to-day experiences, twenty-four hour news is debatably the greatest and most readily available tool; a modern day marvel, both comprehensive and ubiquitous.

However hidden within the dressings of its delivery lays the opportunity to adversely affect common conceptions based upon the predetermined agenda or narrative of the reporter. This project seeks to highlight the saturation of subjective linguistic expression within news media and its affect upon the representation of factual data.
