Films such as "The Great Escape" and "The Shawshank Redemption" are considered among the best ever made. The reality of attitudes towards the real people within the Criminal Justice System is very different. Why is it that the dichotomy between the fictional representation and the reality remains so strong? Prison Fiction aims to address this void. The boundaries between the filmic representation and the realism of a subject become unclear, but are equally significant in the interpretation of the object.
